No jargon required

3D printing, explained like a person.

What the layers mean, why colors vary, and how to care for your print—without turning this into an engineering lesson.

A print grows from the bottom up.

A printer melts a thin strand of material called filament and places it in precise paths. It repeats that process one thin layer at a time until the object is complete. Those fine lines are normal—they’re the fingerprints of how the piece was made.

Color

Will every item look identical?

Close, but not factory-identical. Rainbow transitions, shimmer, and tiny texture differences make each print a little different.

Material

What are most gifts made from?

Most indoor gifts and desk items use PLA. It is lightweight, holds detail well, and comes in many colors. We use other materials when the job calls for them.

Care

How do I look after it?

Keep most prints away from extreme heat, especially hot car interiors. Clean gently and do not force articulated joints beyond their natural movement.

Choosing

What if I don’t know what I need?

Tell us how the piece will be used. We can recommend a material, size, and approach without expecting you to know the technical terms.
